Virat Kohli to play county cricket after IPL 2018

The Indian Skipper, Virat Kohli is considered the best batsman of limited over game in modern cricket. In the past few years, there has been a marked development in Kohli’s batting and attitude.

He has done well in the recent time and created records with his bat and captaincy. Despite having such a great time with the bat, Kohli has decided to play more cricket in foreign countries to improve his comfort on foreign pitches.

It’s confirmed that the Indian Skipper will miss Afghanistan’s test and will fly to England to take part in county stint. The batsman is set to fly to England just after the Indian Premier League (IPL) final on May 27.

Kohli has planned such to improve his not too impressive record in England. During the 2014 season, Kohli had managed to score 134 runs in 10 innings at an average of just 13.40. However, Kohli of 2018 is very different to the Kohli of 2014.

Kohli is likely to play for Surrey and will miss the Afghan’s test starting 14th June in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara is likely to extend his contract with Yorkshire. Since Surrey and Yorkshire are set to clash in June, Kohli and Pujara may be finding clashing too.

Surrey is scheduled to play three four-day matches between June 9 and 28 against Hampshire, Somerset and Yorkshire which Kohli is likely to make himself available for, as reported on The Times of India (TOI).

The team management is aware that the Indian Skipper will be a key player in the tour. After an impressive tour of South Africa, the skipper doesn’t want to leave anything in preparation.

Kohli has been criticized very much for his 2014 tour’s performance. This time Kohli must be aiming at improving his figures in England.

India will tour England in July for 5 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 3 T20Is.
