Weather At Kennington Oval London on June 10: The Oval Hourly Weather Forecast For WTC Final 2023 Day 4

A stellar 109-run partnership for the seventh wicket between Ajinkya Rahane (89) and Shardul Thakur (51) has made way for team India’s mini-comeback in the ongoing World Test Championship final 2023 at the Kennington Oval.

The duo did need some good fortune by their side before a quality Aussie bowling attack, and they indeed had it during the morning session of Day 3. Both Rahane and Thakur took advantage of the dropped catches and dismissals on No-Balls by their pacers to help their side reduce the margin of deficit considerably. Despite all of it, they could not prevent from handing the Aussies a massive 173-run lead in their first innings.

The Indian pacers did send both their openers back in the hut quite early into their second innings. However, the bowlers looked a tad tired and the pair of Steven Smith (34) and Marnus Labuschagne (41*) stitched a 62-run stand for the second wicket.

Just when it looked like the two were taking the game away from India’s grasp, Ravindra Jadeja (2/25) got rid of Smith and then the in-form Travis Head (18) to yet again ignite a spark of hope in the camp. At Stumps, Australia still have six wickets in hand, with the lead swelling up to 296 runs.
