Why is Rashid Khan not playing today's BBL 12 match between Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades at Adelaide Oval?

The 36th league match of the Big Bash League 2022-23 is being played between Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. Melbourne Renegades won the toss and opted to bowl first on a brilliant track in Adelaide.

Adelaide Strikers chased a record target in the last match, and they would want to pounce upon the momentum. Chris Lynn is looking in great form, and he would want to continue. Matthew Short also scored a brilliant century in the last match.

Melbourne Renegades have made three changes to their playing eleven. Mujeeb ur Rahman and Akeal Hosein were star spinners of the side, and both of them are missing this match. The Renegades also played well in the last match, and they will be eager to continue their form.

Why is Rashid Khan not playing today’s BBL 12 match

Adelaide Strikers have made a couple of changes to their playing eleven where Rashid Khan and Henry Thornton have been replaced by the spin duo of Ben Manenti and Cameron Boyce. Rashid Khan not playing is certainly a very big blow for the Strikers.

The users must note that Rashid will not play any further part in the tournament as he will be leading the MI Cape Town in the SA20 League starting tonight. The leg-spinner signed a half-season contract only with the stars, and he certainly delivered some great performances in the season.

Rashid scalped 6 wickets in 8 matches at an economy of 6.42 in BBL 12. He could not get many wickets as the batters were very defensive against him but his economy was great throughout the tournament. Cameron Boyce is making his debut for the Strikers in this match.

Boyce is an experienced leg-spinner and has scalped 89 wickets at an economy of 7.59. He was a part of Melbourne Renegades last season, where he scalped a hat trick as well. It will be interesting to see how he will fill in the shoes of Rashid.
