Why is Shaun Marsh not playing today's BBL 12 match between Melbourne Renegades and Hobart Hurricanes at the Docklands Stadium?

The 32nd league match of the Big Bash League 2022-23 is being played between Melbourne Renegades and Hobart Hurricanes at the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne. Melbourne Renegades won the toss and opted to bowl first on a bright & sunny day in Melbourne.

The Renegades registered a brilliant win in their last match, and they would want to replicate their performance in this match as well. This is the last game of Mujeeb ur Rahman and Akeal Hosein, and they would want to impress before leaving for the ILT20 League in UAE.

Hobart Hurricanes lost their last match despite scoring the highest score in their BBL history. The arrival of Zak Crawley has added to the batting depth of the side, whereas the form of Tim David, Matthew Wade and Ben McDermott has also been great. This team’s bowlers are great as well, and they would want to get into their groove in this match.

Why is Shaun Marsh not playing today’s BBL 12 match

Melbourne Renegades have made one change to their playing eleven where Marcus Harris has replaced Shaun Marsh in the playing eleven. Marsh is suffering from a low-grade hamstring strain and his return date is still not informed by the club, but he will certainly be a big miss for the Renegades.

Marsh has been suffering from injuries, and he has just played three of Renegades’ eight games in the tournament so far. He missed the initial games of the season due to an injury only. Marcus Harris will be playing his first game of the ongoing BBL season. He was a part of Australia’s test squad but was released ahead of the Sydney test.

Harris last played in BBL09, and this will be his first appearance for the Renegades after a couple of seasons. In the absence of Marsh, the experienced trio of Martin Guptill, Marcus Harris and Aaron Finch will play a very important part for the side.
