Why Rohit Sharma not playing today: Why is Deepak Chahar not playing today's 3rd ODI between Bangladesh vs India in Chattogram?

India and Bangladesh are up against each other in the 3rd ODI of the 3-match series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl first where Litton Das said that the grass on the pitch can assist the pacers in the initial overs.

Team India have brought in Kuldeep Yadav and Ishan Kishan in this match. Kuldeep was just a part of the test squad, but he has been inserted in the ODI team as there have been a lot of injury issues in the team at the moment. This will be the first match of Ishan Kishan in the series as well.

The chasing teams have dominated at this stadium, and this can be an important toss to win for the Bangladesh side. The dew factor can play an important part in this match.

Why Rohit Sharma not playing today

KL Rahul at the toss confirmed that the Indian team has made a couple of changes in their playing eleven. Rohit Sharma and Deepak Chahar have been replaced by Ishan Kishan and Kuldeep Yadav in the playing eleven. Both of them are facing injury concerns.

“Injuries are not great and we’ve had a few of them. But it also gives opportunities to new guys. Two changes obviously: Rohit and Deepak are injured. So Ishan and Kuldeep come in,” KL Rahul said at the toss to the broadcaster Gazi TV.

Rohit injured his thumb while fielding in the last match, but he still came out to bat to score a half-century coming at the number 9 slot. He is ruled out of the 3rd ODI, whereas his participation in the tests is also under very dark clouds. Rohit confirmed that he has stitches and dislocation in his thumb.

Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the game due to a hamstring injury. He bowled just three overs in the last match and he did not field in the rest of the match as well. He has been unlucky with a lot of injuries this year.
