Twitter reacts as Virat Kohli shines on day two
India needed to put in a strong performance today, as Kohli’s men had to make a mark on what was a crucial day in the match. Trailing 1-0 in the series, India had to bounce back today if they wanted to stay alive in this test seties.
In spite of Faf du Plessis’s defiant 63, Bumrah, Shami and Ishant bowled their hearts out on a track that did not offer much to the pacers. Ashwin though was India’s best bowler, as the willy spinner picked up four crucial wickets for his captain.
Maharaj and Rabada provided good support to their captain, as the Proteas built some useful partnerships along the way. Eventually India bowled the hosts out for 335, as Kohli and men were relatively happy with that score on what was a flat track.

The Indians struggled in their reply, as Vijay, Pujara and Rohit threw their wickets away, to hand the initiative to South Africa. The Indian captain was impressive though, as Virat Kohli anchored the Indian innings with a wonderful 85.

Such circumstances shows the difference between @imVkohli & other players. An absolute positive intent.
Made unbeaten 85 as India reached 183 for 5 in reply to South Africa’s 335 at stumps on the second day of the second Test. #INDvSA. pic.twitter.com/iPfungYmo3

Looks like Kohli using the old Sachin trick, holding the bat in the hand at the non-striker end, based on the side of the shine. In fact, Pandya shuffles when it is in the left hand and does not when it is in the right hand. #INDvSA
