“Cringiest Event in F1 History”- Bruce Buffer’s Las Vegas Grand Prix Debut Invites the Wrath of F1 Fans

Dana White, Joe Rogan and Bruce Buffer are a few that go hand in hand with the UFC. Buffer is the veteran voice of the octagon. His job is to create anticipation and enthusiasm in the audience by announcing competitors as they step into the octagon. He was most recently seen at the F1 Las Vegas GP for the same reason.

Buffer’s distinct approach, which is defined by his flashy motions and booming voice, has become an essential component of the UFC experience.

Unfortunately, Buffer’s enthusiasm and ability to make introductions is not appreciated in every sport. The 66-year-old was hired by F1 for driver introductions at the highly anticipated Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Buffer, being his usual self, gave it his all while introducing RedBull Racing driver, Sergio Perez. This did not go down well with the F1 fans who have never seen introductions such as this. Here are some of the best reactions to Buffer’s introductions this weekend.

One fan said, “Second hand embarrassment is real.

Another fan added, “Are Checo’s ear drums ok?

Let them concentrate before the race !! All this extra cringe show bs”- commented a fan out of concern.

Cringiest event in F1 history”- commented a fan in disgust.

F1 Las Vegas a $500 million disaster?

With the success of Drive to Survive, F1 has seen a massive increase in popularity in the United States. In order to capitalise on it, F1 has arranged 3 races in the United States this year. The latest entrant is a $500 million project in the Las Vegas Grand Prix. However, the first edition of the Grand Prix has been anything but a success so far.

On the first practice session a manhole cover hit Carlos Sainz’s Ferrari and completely damaged his car. Following which, the F1 had to suspend the session in order to fix the issues. After hours of maintenance, fans were escorted out of the arena and the session took place behind closed doors. Fans that payed for the event got to witness a total of 8 minutes.

In addition to that, several drivers, most prominently Max Verstappen have been extremely critical of the event in general. The odd timings, poor planning, unnecessary theatrics among others have invited the wrath of Max Verstappen on the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Regardless of the feelings of the fans and the drivers, the Las Vegas GP will be there on the calendar for a few more years to come.
