Ronaldo wants Marcelo at Juventus

Ronaldo confirms Juventus wants one Real Madrid superstar

Cristiano Ronaldo says he would like Marcelo to join him at Juventus. The duo spent 9 years together with the Los Blancos, winning 2 La Liga titles and 4 Champions League during the joy-filled career.

The Portuguese International was repeatedly looking to leave Real Madrid during the summer after a fall out with the club president Florentino Perez. The Italian super weights Juventus showed interest on the former Real Madrid forward and wrapped the deal for a fee of 100 million Euros in the Summer transfer window.

When he was asked about any reinforcement Juventus need to make them stronger, even more, he refused that the Old Lady has a proper attacking threat, but wants Marcelo as he feels his team requires a full-back.

Speaking to the press, he said “I see you write about James [Rodriguez], [Gareth] Bale, [Marco] Asensio but if I’m honest, Juventus do not need other players. You must talk to the president. On the future, I do not know.

“Marcelo is strong, we open the doors to good players and Marcelo is one of them.”

Ronaldo has made a strong start to his Juventus career by netting 11 goals in 19 appearances this term. His attacking combination with Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic, Federico Bernardeschi and Juan Cuadrado has been hitting the heights as expected as they have secured 43 points from just 15 games.

The Portuguese International is certainly in love with his new club.

Ronaldo told La Gazzetta Dello Sport, “It is not fair to only mention some, but I can say that this is the best group that I have played with.

“Here we are a team. In other places some feel bigger than the rest, but here they are all on the same level, they are humble and they want to win.

“If (Paulo) Dybala or (Mario) Mandzukic don’t score, they are still happy and they smile. It’s really nice and I can see the difference.

“In Madrid they are humble, but here I feel they are more so. It is very different from Madrid; this is a family.”

The 33-year-old’s individual achievements with the Los Blancos were immense. He became the second player to win the Ballon d’Or four times at Real Madrid and has been part of the FIFPRO World XI ever since 2007. He is the club’s leading scorer with 450 goals from just 438 appearances in all competitions.

On the other hand, Marcelo has made over 460 appearances for the club since signing from the Brazilian outfit Fluminense in 2006. He has lifted the same amount of trophies like Ronaldo did in the last 9 years. The Brazilian has been included in the FIFPRO XI in the last six years and has been named in the UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season in the last three seasons.

The left-back wrote an emotional farewell bidding to Ronaldo upon his departure from Real Madrid.

“Who would say it, Cris! It’s time for you to go soon…

“I swear I did not imagine that day would come! But nothing in this life is forever, I hope you are very happy in your new club.

“It has been almost 10 years at your side, 10 years of joy, good football, victories, defeats and wonderful moments! I’ve learned a lot from you, your dedication is the strangest thing I saw in an athlete.

“Everything must be good for you and your beautiful family!

“I’m going to miss our talks before the games, when you got the results right and when before the finals you reassured us with your experience and the love you gave to the youngest ones!

“I am proud to have played with you, not because you are the best player but because of who you are.

“When I stop playing I will sit at the bar to have a beer, tell several stories and show all our photos.

“Saying goodbye, #M12”
