CSK vs RR Playing 11: CSK Predicted Playing 11 vs RR | IPL 2019
CSK Predicted Playing 11 vs RR: The Sportsrush presents before you CSK’s Predicted Playing XI for their third match of IPL 2019.
Defending champions of the Indian Premier League Chennai Super Kings will be playing their third match of IPL 2019 against Rajasthan Royals at Chennai. Coming on the back of a couple of victories in the tournament, CSK would be keen to enhance their start by registering their third consecutive victory.
In what will be their second match on their home ground, Chennai Super Kings would be hoping for a better pitch than what was offered to them during IPL 2019 season opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore. With a better Head-to-Head statistics against the Royals, Super Kings would be hoping to bank on the numbers.
CSK Predicted Playing 11 vs RR
Top-order
Both the Chennai opening batsmen in Ambati Rayudu and Shane Watson have had starts in the two matches which they have played in IPL 2019 so far. Watson scoring a praiseworthy 44 (26) with the help of four fours and three sixes saw him earning the Man of the Match award against Delhi Capitals.
Both of them would be now looking to convert their starts to match-winning totals for not all matches would be as easy as the first two matches have been for them.
CSK No. 3 Suresh Raina had stitched a 52-run stand for Watson for the second wicket against DC. Much like Watson, the southpaw also played an impressive innings where he scored 30 (16) with the help of four fours and a six. and much like the openers, Raina would also be gearing for tougher challengers in the imminent matches.
Middle-order
Before the start of IPL 2019, Super Kings coach Stephem Fleming had said that the team management will use captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni as a “floater” in IPL 2019. While Dhoni didn’t come out to bat till No.5 vs RCB, he came out to bat at No. 5 vs DC.
It appears as if Fleming is backing his words with actions as Dhoni is likely to continue moving up and down in the batting order. Moreover, the presence of three all-rounders in Kedar Jadhav, Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja allows CSK to do the same according to situations and conditions.
Bowlers
On paper, Super Kings’ bowling unit might appear to be lacking the required venom. However, it is the wisdom of Dhoni from behind the wickets which keeps the bowlers on their toes. Despite CSK naming New Zealand fast bowler Scott Kuggeleijn as Lungi Ngidi’s replacement, the pacer will only be available from next week.
Therefore, expect Chennai to continuing playing with only three overseas players and almost the same bowling attack comprising of Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir tonight.
