Mirpur Stadium capacity Dhaka: Shere Bangla Stadium capacity for spectators

Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla stadium is hosting the initial two matches of the 3-match ODI series between India and Bangladesh. Bangladesh won the first ODI by a wicket, and it was certainly a thriller of a game. The 2nd ODI of the series will be at this stadium on Wednesday.

Bangladesh delighted their home fans in the 1st ODI, where Mehidy Hasan Miraz played an excellent knock of 38 runs in order to lead his side to a victory. The bowlers of the side were also excellent in the last game, and they would want to continue their form in this match as well.

India lost the first ODI, and the 2nd ODI will be a do-or-die for them. Rishabh Pant got ruled out of the series, whereas Axar Patel was also ruled out of the first match due to an injury. With KL Rahul batting in the middle order, he will be the designated wicketkeeper.

Mirpur Stadium capacity Dhaka

The Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Mirpur is the iconic cricketing venue in Bangladesh, and the majority of the matches in Bangladesh are played at this very venue only. This stadium is situated a few KMs away from the capital city Dhaka. The first international match at this stadium was an ODI between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in 2006.

This is the biggest stadium in Bangladesh as per the crowd capacity, which is said to be around 25,000. It is interesting that earlier this stadium was used to host football matches only, but it was taken over by Bangladesh Cricket Ground, and it went under refurbishment.

The pitch at this stadium has not been that easy for batting, and it was seen in the 1st ODI as well, where the bowlers dominated the proceedings. It has been a little bit on the slower side, and it will be interesting to see how the other two ODIs will fare out here at this stadium.
