Frenkie De Jong is long linked with a move to FC Barcelona, and Daley Blind’s signing may allow Ajax to sell the youngster.

Manchester United defender Daley Blind signed for the club in 2014 after the FIFA World Cup. He starred for The Netherlands who finished third in that competition. International manager during the World Cup, Louis van Gaal, grabbed his compatriot.

However, since his signing for the Red Devils, things have been going south as far as his concerned. Daley Blind has been virtually invisible in the last two seasons since Jose Mourinho took over at the helm.

The former Chelsea boss has preferred to play Ashley Young at left back and given very few chances to Luke Shaw. Meanwhile, Blind hasn’t had a chance to prove himself even at central defence or midfield where he can occasionally operate.

The 28 year old could finally be heading towards the exit door at the Old Trafford in this transfer window. Expected to be heading back to his homeland in Amsterdam, former recruits Ajax are expected to pay £14.1 million for his signature.

The deal for Daley Blind could also include Frenkie de Jong of Ajax. The Dutch youngster has been on the watch list of several European clubs including Barcelona but Ajax were reluctant in losing their star name.

Although, landing Daley Blind in Amsterdam could change the club’s stature and impact de Jong’s future. De Jong, who can play in the same midfield position as that of Blind could be included in the deal and set to Manchester or be separately sold.
