De Ligt: Manchester United set to hijack Barcelona's target in recent developments

De Ligt: Manchester United set to hijack Barcelona’s target in recent developments as the Ajax defender is set to leave Netherlands.

Manchester United are desperate to sign reinforcements after struggling to gain any significant success this season.

Thus, with the financial backing from the club administration, Ole Solskjaer is set to make remarkable signings this summer.

On the other hand, according to a report by Daily Telegraph, Matthijs De Ligt is still interested in hearing offers from Manchester United, despite his agent’s statement few days ago.

It is claimed that the prospect of being at the centre of Manchester United’s rebuild does appeal to De Ligt. Further, De Ligt’ s spectacular performances against Real Madrid and Juventus makes him a quality addition.

It is surprising that the player is showing interest, despite the absence of the Champions league football in the Old Trafford.

Moreover, Ajax recent league victory displays the 19-year-old’s leadership quality, which the Red Devils’ squad is lacking presently. Hence, making him the perfect target for Manchester United.

However, Barcelona are still favourites to hire the services of De Ligt as the Dutch has openly expressed his playing style is suited to the Catalan club.

On the contrary, it is also considerable that Barcelona have a huge financial burden amidst Frankie De Jong and Antoine Griezmann signing.

Thus, giving Manchester an advantage of being able to offer a better financial package to De Ligt than any of their rivals in Europe.

Nevertheless, the final decision by the Ajax captain is yet to be seen and could be finalized in coming days.
