Deepak Chahar back in training

CSK have been dealt with a huge blow as Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the IPL for at least weeks because of a hamstring injury that he suffered during the match against MI in Pune.

The incident took place during Chahar’s 3rd over, wherein just after having bowled his first delivery of that over, Chahar was seen in visible discomfort.

He ultimately had to walk off the field, as Harbhajan took the ball to complete the rest of Chahar’s over.

Dhoni and CSK did miss Chahar’s services, especially in the initial part of Mumbai’s innings, where Chahar has always helped CSK get a breakthrough.

MI managed to cruise to a win, as none of the CSK bowlers were able to run through that Mumbai top order.

CSK have had to deal with a few injuries this season, as Kedar Jadhav was ruled out of the tournament with a hamstring injury right after the first game. Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni have also had injury concerns this season.

CSK will now have to replace Deepak Chahar for the next game, by either getting in an Indian seamer or leaving out Imran Tahir for Karn Sharma, and drafting in either of Mark Wood or David Willey as the leader of the attack.

CSK will need to get their campaign back on track after a loss today, but Dhoni was of the idea that the loss could be a good one for the franchise in the long run.

“A loss makes you humble. It tests the other batsmen and bowlers. Also, if you keep winning you don’t know what area you need to work on. It was a good game for us. We have won quite a few games. We now have time to analyze what needs to be done. ” Dhoni said.
