Dinesh Karthik catch vs MI

Dinesh Karthik catch vs MI: Kolkata Knight Riders captain grabbed a awe-inspiring catch to dismiss his wicket-keeping counterpart.

During the 56th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders at Mumbai, Kolkata Knight Riders captain Dinesh Karthik grabbed a breathtaking catch to dismiss Mumbai Indians opening batsman Quinton de Kock.

It all happened on the first delivery of the seventh over when de Kock’s attempt to pull a Prasidh Krishna delivery saw him top-edging the ball. With the ball going towards the fine leg region, Karthik ran back from the wicket-keeper’s position.

With the ball at a significant distance from him, Karthik eventually timed his dive to perfection to affect the dismissal. Becoming the first MI batsman to be dismissed, de Kock ended up scoring 30 (23) with the help of one four and three sixes.

After Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and put the visitors in to bat, Kolkata scored a mediocre 133/7 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Top-scoring for his team, KKR opening batsman Chris Lynn scored 41 (29) with the help of two fours and four sixes.

With bowling figures of 4-0-35-3, veteran MI bowler Lasith Malinga was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts.

While KKR would be relieved to dismiss de Kock, they will have to keep taking wickets continuously in a bid to restrict Mumbai. In what is a must-win match for KKR, expect them to go harder at MI in the remaining overs.
