"Don't come home": Watch Ben Cutting's hilarious interaction with wife Erin Holland after leading Heat to win vs Hurricanes

Ben Cutting’s hilarious interaction with wife Erin Holland: The Heat’s all-rounder played a match-winning innings at the Gabba.

During the 29th match of the ongoing ninth season of the Big Bash League between Brisbane Heat and Hobart Hurricanes at the Gabba, Brisbane Heat defeated the visitors by 5 wickets on the back of a match-winning 60-run partnership between wicket-keeper batsman Jimmy Peirson and all-rounder Ben Cutting.

Chasing a 127-run target, Heat lost half their side and especially captain Chris Lynn (9) in the 11th over. While Peirson (23) played second fiddle in the partnership, it was Cutting who scored 43 (29) with the help of three fours and sixes each to seal the chase in the penultimate over.

Speaking to his wife and renowned presenter Erin Holland post winning the match, Cutting was involved in a hilarious conversation. On a night when he received accolades from one and all, things weren’t the same (initially) as far as his better half was concerned.

“Look, I said it to you before the game that any danger of getting a few runs so I actually get to talk to you for once. So, thank you for listening to me for the first time in your life,” Holland was quoted as saying amusingly to Cutting in the beginning of the interview.

Admitting the batting collapse in a small chase, Cutting was wax lyrical about Peirson for playing a “serious knock”. “We made it hard for ourselves with the bat again. The way Jimmy Peirson played at the other end … can’t forget him … it was a serious knock from him. Pretty tricky wicket,” Cutting said.

Having won four matches in a row now, Brisbane are at No. 3 in the points table. Slated to play Perth Scorchers in Perth on Saturday and then host Adelaide Strikers at home on Tuesday, Heat have back-to-back matches coming up. Talking about her husband’s hectic schedule, Holland ended up suggesting him to not come home.

“I know how much you love travelling to Perth and how much you love your sleep. You won’t get a lot tonight, rest up and play well in Perth … or don’t come home,” Holland added.
