Dota 2 News Update: Former Brazilian Dota 2 Player Anderson “444” Santos, passes away due to Covid-19. He was most recently playing as a part of paIN Gaming. The whole Dota 2 community mourns 444’s loss. The announcement regarding his passing away comes from his former team.

Last month, Anderson “444” Santos, the 25-year-old Brazilian Dota 2 player tested positive for the Coronavirus. Since then, the Dota 2 community has been helping out by raising funs and providing essential healthcare for the former paIN Gaming pro-player.

He, along with 3 other members of his family tested positive for the Coronavirus. The Dota 2 community came out in support, and on Jan. 21 they were able to raise $1,200 to pay for treatments and purchase medicines. 444 was a crucial part of the South American Dota 2 community, and even after his stint with paIN Gaming, he always continued to support the development of the region.

This tweet by paIN gaming roughly translates to, “Today we lost Bob to COVID-19. We’re eternally grateful for your help in building another chapter of our story on Dota. You’re an incredible person and we’ll miss you immeasurably. We can’t believe you were ripped from us so prematurely. Lucky are those who had a chance to know you and who had the honor of seeing you play. Our hearts and thoughts are with your family. Rest in peace, 444.”

Condolences pour in from Dota 2 community

A lot of wishes have been pouring in from the Dota 2 communities across the world. Team Secret also put out a tweet to remember the late 444, reminding everyone that the Dota 2 community is like a family.

His former teammate in paIN Gaming also expressed his sadness through a tweet. Rodrigo “Lelis” Santos said, “Today sadly I woke up to heartbreaking news,Covid-19 took another soul and this time, it was from out beloved player 444. An extremely humble and charismatic person. Rest in peace Bob.”
