Dream 11 Season Mode: Dream 11 Round 5 Fantasy Prediction and Tips as The SportsRush helps you form the best Dream 11 team

It’s round 5 time in the Dream 11 Season Mode and with the business end of the tournament upon us, it is time to pull up your socks as Fantasy Managers and get closer to the summit, else you would be reeling at the bottom of your respective leagues and won’t have the bragging rights to ‘cricketing supremacy’ over your friends at the end of the season.

The schedule plays the most important role once again, as players that feature thrice in an eight match round should logically provide you with more points than those who feature twice or once(logically being the operative word here).

Basically, you want your player to have the maximum possible opportunity to go out and rack some Dream 11 Fantasy points up and hence the schedule concept needs to be stressed upon.

Now, in Round 5, DC play thrice, with two of those games at Delhi and one in Jaipur. While the schedule concept is something I heavily stress on, DC is not a very bankable team in that respect, especially with two games in Delhi. The Feroz Shah Kotla track hasn’t been very ‘T20 friendly’ this season, with the ball stopping on the batsmen and sometimes dew making an appearance as well.

You can’t really say if the surface will be conducive for batting and with bowlers not getting their share in the Dream 11 Fantasy Points system, I wouldn’t be stacking my team up with DC players.

Moreover, with DC drafting Colin Munro in, one can’t be sure where Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer will feature in that batting line up. Iyer slotted in at 4 last time round, with Pant coming in at 5. The duo could be swapped if it is necessary to up the ante, but you can never be sure as to where they’ll play. You could get in both to eliminate the element of surprise, but then that could be a little risky, as there could be better picks at the top of the order from DC or from other teams.

Kings XI play just once during this round and hence I’ll do away with all their players in my current team.

Let’s get to business now.

Dream 11 Round 5 Fantasy Prediction and Tips

With 5 free transfer allowed, I’ll be making 5 changes to my team. Considering the fact that DC play thrice, I will first talk about the DC player(s) that I draft into my side.

With the Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer batting position conundrum, I will be placing my bets on Shikhar Dhawan for this round, as he has recently struck form with a 90 odd against the Knight Riders. With Dhawan in form, and he sure to bat at the top of the order, I go with him ahead of both Iyer and Pant. Prithvi Shaw too could be a good option, but why I go in with Dhawan is that he has struck form recently and takes lesser risks than Shaw while constructing his innings.

I had transferred out David Warner for Round 4, as SRH were playing just once, but considering the form that he is in this IPL, it would be foolish to leave him out of this round, with SRH playing two games at home, a ground that he absolutely loves. Get the orange cap holder in.

I transfer out KL Rahul as well, as KXIP feature just once in this round and replace him with Jonny Bairstow, who has gone off the boil in the last few innings, but with the kind of talent he possesses, I am sure he will get back to his destructive best. Moreover, coming in at just 8.5cr, Bairstow helps me massively with the cost constraints.

I transfer out Sunil Narine for this round, as he hasn’t been delivering with the bat and with the ball too that wicket taking threat seems to have gone out of the window. While he did pick a couple of wickets in the last two games, batsmen have generally found it easy against him this season and hence at 10.5cr, I feel can invest that kind of money elsewhere.

I have made some changes to my bowling unit for this round, drafting in both Yuzvendra Chahal and Deepak Chahar. I have transferred out Piyush Chawla(and Narine) for the same.

Both Chahal and Chahar are absolute steals, coming in for just 8.5 cr and 8 cr respectively. The go to bowlers for their respective teams, I expect both these bowlers to give me good returns for what they are worth in the Dream 11 Fantasy season mode.

Chahal is 3rd on the purple cap holders list with 13 wickets from 8 games and Chahar is 7th on the list with 10 wickets from 8 games. Get both of them in.

I have stuck with Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Nitish Rana, Andre Russell, Shreyas Gopal and Prayas Ray Burman for this round as well.

Prayas Ray Burman is my dummy pick, one that I feel is needed so as to get all the high-priced players in your side. The reason for a 5.5 cr player is that I believe one should have 10 good players in their side, instead of having 8-9 good players and then settling for 3 average players, one’s who you wouldn’t have drafted in if it wouldn’t have been for massive cost constraints.

Kohli, ABD are two players that I always keep in my Fantasy sides, as when these two are on song, which is more often than not, they are able to shower us with Fantasy points. And when they are scheduled to play at the flat surfaces on Eden Gardens and Chinnaswamy, you wouldn’t want to leave them out.

Nitish Rana has slotted in wonderfully for KKR in the middle order and has also chipped in with a few wickets. And Andre Russell’s selection requires no justification. Shreyas Gopal has been RR’s primary spin option this season and with the Jaipur track conducive for spinners, he could come in very handy in this round too.
