Mohamed Salah has posted a photo with Chelsea star Eden Hazard amidst Real Madrid speculation.

Mohamed Salah has posted a photo with Eden Hazard on social media. The pair know about each other well when these two played between January 2014 and January 2015 at Stamford Bridge, before the Egyptian opting to go out on loan to the Italian outfit Fiorentina in the hope of reviving his career.

It is a contrasting story between these two players who have reached the top level in the Premier League football. Eden Hazard did not need so much time after arriving with a world-class reputation from the French outfit LOSC Lille. On the other hand, Mohamed Salah was already famous among the Blues faithful after knocking them out of the Champions League with his former side FC Basel.

That double prompted the manager Jose Mourinho to make a move for the Egyptian who looked in fine fettle. But, he did no favour by moving to the English outfit as he warmed the most of the times and struggled to concrete his name in the starting lineup. The pacy winger struggled to beat the likes of Andre Schrulle, Willian, and Eden Hazard to place in the starting eleven.

It was the complete opposite for Eden Hazard. The Belgian International had a fantastic first season with Chelsea, leading them to Europa League glory in the process. He is never known for his goalscoring prowess, but his ability to break down the defence and find spaces to cause havoc to the opponents’ defence. He has gone on to win two Premier League titles under the management of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.

At the same time, Mohamed Salah flourished in Italy and made a huge name for himself in the Italian top division. During his loan stint with Fiorentina, the Egyptian scored 9 goals from 26 appearances. That number was attractable enough for the suitors, and AS Roma won the race for the forward despite receiving an offer from his old side Fiorentina.

Upon moving to Stadio Olimpico, he paired up with the Bosnian International Eden Dzeko up front and acted as the second striker. He scored 34 goals from two seasons with Roma and also assisted on 24 occasions from 83 appearances. Liverpool were one among the various suitors to register interest on him. Liverpool, who failed to pay up for Salah in January 2014, were not prepared to run down the clock and lose him. They signed him for a fee of 34 million euros during the summer of 2017.

It turned out to be a brilliant move for Salah as he shattered plenty of records, including the record Premier League scorer in a single season by bagging 32 goals. He guided Liverpool to the Champions League final, but the Egyptian’s collision with Sergio Ramos in the first half meant that the club were not prepared to risk him with the World Cup beckoning. He was forced to come off the pitch and the Reds lost the contest in the second half.

Mohamed Salah might not have won as many silverware as he would have liked. But, he is in top of the game despite going through a barren spell in the recent months. When Eden Hazard was asked about Mohamed Salah’s phenomenal form with Liverpool, the Chelsea winger said that he would like to reach his friend’s level soon.

“Mo Salah is one of my good friends and he’s doing something incredible. I try to look at this player and this player and try to reach that level.” said Hazard.

Despite just one year of togetherness at Chelsea, Eden Hazard and Mohamed Salah have always been friends on and off the pitch. The pair could team up at Real Madrid in the forthcoming window, with the former’s move looks inevitable, whilst Mohamed Salah has been on Real Madrid’s radar for a while now. It is not sure if Liverpool would sell their starman now, but Hazard looks likely to end up at Real Madrid.
