England announce unchanged squad; Anderson to miss Rajkot Test
The build-up to the India-England series has begun. England today announced a 16 member squad to play the 5-test series against the Indian team. One of the highlights is the fact that James Anderson is set to miss the start of the tour. He has not yet fully recovered from the shoulder injury.
The squad currently playing in Bangladesh will continue their way to India as well.
Anderson was also forced to miss the Bangladesh series. England have been playing without him and that will continue for the Rajkot Test as well. The series begins on 9th of November.
But he might recover anytime soon. It will not be a surprise of he joins the squad for the rest of the 4 matches. Anderson is one of the main bowlers of the team. The 34-year-old lad boasts a record of 473 Test wickets.
“It is hoped that he will play some part in the Indian series,” ECB said in a statement.
Further, England will also miss the services of Mark Wood owing to an ankle injury. Surprisingly, any additional seamer is not drafted.
