The ESL One: Cologne 2020, which was supposed to be an offline event was scrapped on May 5th. Later, the organisers announced that the event would be held online towards the end of August.
After much waiting the ESL One: Cologne 2020 will begin tonight. Keep reading to check out the teams which are participating, the format of the tournament, the schedule of games and the prize pool teams are competing for.

ESL ONE: Cologne 2020 Teams & Format
A total of 16 teams are participating in the European Online division of ESL One: Cologne 2020.
The 16 teams have been separated into two groups of 8. The group stages have a double-elimination format and all games are B03. The top 4 teams from each group will advance to the playoffs.
The playoff stage is a single-elimination bracket. All the games except the grand finals will be a B03 and the Grand Finals will be a Bo5.
Group A
Team Big, Team Sprout, OG, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Na Vi, mousesports, Complexity, MAD Lions.
Group B
Team Vitality, Team Heretics, Fnatic, Astralis, FaZe Clan, Heroic, MIBR, G2 Esports.
ESL ONE: Cologne 2020 Schedule
The group stage games will begin on August 18th and end on August 26th as per the current schedule.
The playoffs will begin on August 27th, and the Grand Finals will take place on Aug 30.

The tournament features a prize pol of $325,000 divided as shown below:
1st Place -$150,000
2nd Place – $50,000
3rd&4th – $25,000
5th-8th – $11,500
9th&10th – $5,000
11th&12th – $4,000
