Among the host of celebrities present in the F1 Paddock in Miami, Elon Musk was one of them who raised quite some eyebrows. As Musk, the Alpha Geek, was in the Red Bull garage, he looked very impressed but also didn’t forget to challenge the Bulls with his own $100,000 machine.
According to a report published by Next Gen Auto, Horner said that the $175 billion man Elon Musk challenged Red Bull with one of his electric vehicles, possibly Model S Plaid because it’s the fastest. However, the 51-year-old moved back when he realized that his car could only do half of the race, asserted the 49-year-old Red Bull boss.

Talking about Musk’s involvement in F1, the British executive stated that it was great to see Musk in the F1 paddock and embrace the ICE [Internal Combustion Engine] again. Musk, who’s a renowned fanatic of technology, is no doubt overwhelmed by the F1’s mechanism.
Speaking on this, the Austrian boss further stated that he thinks the American billionaire was “very impressed with the technology.” Being an incredibly brilliant guy, the Tesla CEO wanted to know about the battery, its power, and the overall power of the car.
Musk’s partnership with Red Bull
Although many don’t know this, Twitter boss Musk is also connected to the defending champion. Many might have thought why the American entrepreneur chose to side with the Austrian team in the Miami GP race, but there’s a reason.
Speaking on this, Horner said that Musk is connected to Red Bull through a partnership. Even though it’s not direct, he’s already partnered with Larry Ellison. Ellison is the co-founder and Chief Technical Officer of the Oracle Corporation, which is the title partner of Red Bull Racing.

Speaking of the American businessman’s involvement in motorsport, especially in F1, the British executive shared that Musk looked interested in F1. When F1 is looking at a big change in the 2026 season, he thinks attracting such huge names who can invest is good for the sport.
Despite the enormous advantage, Horner believes in rivals’ comeback
Red Bull is going through an enormous season opening this season. From taking their fifth victory in five races in Miami to securing their fourth 1-2 in four races, the Milton-Keynes-based team has built up a massive lead in the constructors’ championship.
However, Horner believes the rivals are set to make a return with massive upgrades and catch them up soon. Talking about this recently in Pardon My Take, the Red Bull honcho stated that Ferrari, Mercedes, and Aston Martin are set to arrive in the triple header with enormous packages.
Furthermore, with the defending champions already having their tunnel time crippled for having breached the 2021 budget cap, Horner believes they are already on the back foot. As things stand, it’ll be interesting to see how things play out once we reach the end of the season.
