In a time when nothing is going right in F1, Lewis Hamilton has decided to take a trip down memory lane. Despite the upheaval, the notalgic Hamilton turned to better times, as his recent social media post suggests.

The seven-time world champion in his latest Instagram story posted an illustration of him with his younger self. The colorful sketch showcases the grown-up F1 driver fist bumping his younger version from his karting days.

As the drawing showed him looking at his younger avatar, a portrait of his inspiration Ayrton Senna can be seen in the background with sunlight coming straight at them. The Silver Arrows ace put this drawing on his Instagram story and captioned it, “We’ve come a long way.”

The man who has 103 race wins and multiple records, the F1 life hasn’t been going well for him of late. The star who ruled the circuits in most of part of the last decade can hardly manage a podium in recent times.

Lewis Hamilton reveals his proudest accomplishment

Hamilton, who matched the legacy of Michael Schumacher back in 2020, has recently opened up on his proudest accomplishment in life. In an interview with the Design District magazine, the 38-year-old shared this.

Despite having so many accolades to his name, the Briton stated that winning the 2008 F1 world championship has been the most significant moment of his life. It was special for him, not just because it was his first title, but also because of his father’s presence beside him.

Hamilton said his father, Anthony Hamilton, has been nothing but supportive towards his son’s F1 dream. He took multiple jobs and slept on the sofa just to make his son realize his F1 dream. And to have the first world championship beside him meant a lot for the Stevenage-born.

How’s Hamilton doing in the 2023 F1 season?

The British driver has been faring well this season. Even though this is nothing close to his dominant years, his performances so far have been better than that of 2022.

Apart from the qualification in Miami, the 38-year-old performed to his absolute limit with the W-14. Even though the qualifications have been a compromising sector for him, his race performance has been better by far.

In the five races, F1 had so far, Lewis Hamilton finished in P5, P5, P2, P6, and P6, respectively. He currently has 56 points in his tally and is occupying P4 in the driver’s championship, which is 16 points more than his teammate George Russell, who’s in P6 with 40 points.
