Charles Leclerc and Pierre Gasly's 'Tennis Date' is Intruded By a 'Third Wheel,' Claim Fans

Star Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc recently turned into a tennis fan as he attended the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 event on Sunday along with his good friend Pierre Gasly. The two watched the doubles final, where the pair of Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek emerged victorious against the team of Sam Weissborn and Romain Arneodo.

Dodig and Krajicek registered the win in three sets as they beat Weissborn and Arneodo 6-0, 4-6, 14-2. While Leclerc and Gasly seemed to enjoy their ‘tennis date’ together, fans believe that there was another person who was a ‘third wheel.’ And this third person was none other than Gasly’s Portuguese girlfriend, Kika Cerqueira Gomes.

Fans hilariously state Kika intruded Leclerc and Gasly’s ‘date’

F1 fans seemed to have taken a cheeky dig at Kika Cerqueira Gomes for ‘spoiling’ Charles Leclerc and Pierre Gasly’s date. Several of them provided multiple examples of how Gasly seems to bond better with Leclerc at the tennis event rather than with his girlfriend, Kika.

For example, some pointed out how Gasly is wearing matching clothes with Leclerc rather than with Kika.  Meanwhile, some others pointed out that Gasly was sitting closer to Leclerc than to Kika.

Charles Leclerc and Pierre Gasly have poor start to 2023 season

Both Charles Leclerc and Pierre Gasly find themselves in the midst of a much-needed break after a disastrous start to the F1 2023 season. After three races, Leclerc currently finds himself tenth in the championship with just six points.

He is currently 14 points behind his Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz and a whopping 63 points behind championship leader Max Verstappen. The Monegasque finds himself in this position as barring a seventh-place finish in Saudi Arabia, he has scored no points.

On the other hand, Alpine’s Gasly finds himself 14th in the championship with just four points. He scored two points each in both Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, having finished ninth in the race.

He was also on course to score some points in Australia before a collision with his teammate, Esteban Ocon, put him out of the race. After a disappointing start to the 2023 season for both Leclerc and Gasly, both drivers will hope to regroup, starting from the next race in Baku. The Azerbaijan GP takes place from April 28 to 30.
