Charles Leclerc Nationality: Ferrari Driver Wears a Special 'Red' and 'Diamond' Outfit to Express His Love for Monaco

Charles Leclerc recently shot a promotional video for Puma Motorsports, where he wore a dazzling ‘red’ and ‘diamond’ outfit. Leclerc revealed how he actually helped design this special outfit because of the connection that it has to his home country of Monaco.

While speaking in a video posted by Puma Motorsports and Scuderia Ferrari on Instagram, Leclerc explained, “The diamonds are on the emblem of Monaco. So I thought it would be a good idea to have them on my clothes. White is one of my favorite colors and I thought it would fit well with the reds and it is also Monaco’s color“.

Leclerc‘s love for Monaco is widely known and there is nothing he would like more than to win his home Grand Prix. The 25-year-old, who will compete in his sixth Monaco GP race this weekend, came agonizingly close to winning his home race last season. He led most of the race before a disastrous pit stop decision from his team cost him the win.

Charles Leclerc and his love for Monaco

Even though Charles Leclerc has a strong connection to both France and Italy, he is Monegasque through and through. The 25-year-old has expressed his love for his home country on several occasions previously with the smallest of actions.

During his F2 days, Leclerc once seemingly got annoyed when the organizers played the French national anthem instead of Monaco’s. Leclerc could be seen waving his hands as a gesture to suggest bringing his country’s anthem on.

And this did not seem to have stopped when he reached F1 as well. In a video uploaded by Clara, a trackside reporter addressed Leclerc by stating, “From French to another French speaker“.

Even though Leclerc knows French and spent a lot of time in the country, he corrected the reporter by insisting that he’s not from France.

Leclerc has a past connection to both France and Italy

During his childhood, Charles Leclerc spent a lot of time in both France and Italy. Consequently, even though he is a proud Monegasque, the 25-year-old has acknowledged that both these nations also hold a special place in his heart.

The 25-year-old began his motorsport career in France before spending 10 years in Italy. Despite his connection to both these countries, Leclerc has made it abundantly clear to refer him as a Monegasque and nothing else.
