Charles Leclerc Once Stopped on Track to Let Other Drivers Pass Because of Superior Pace

Charles Leclerc is one of the most talented and popular drivers in F1 and is considered to be a future world champion. Consequently, it must be hard for non-racers to compete with the Ferrari star on the track, but they still gave it a shot.

In 2022, Leclerc went karting with his friends who aren’t racing drivers. The Monegasque was off to a flying start and in fact, he was so fast that he had to slow down. Slowing down too, wasn’t enough for his peers to catch up to him, so Leclerc actually stopped on track!

The gap became so big that when Leclerc slowed down, he even pulled his arm out to ask his friends to pass him. This was a hilarious moment, and the video of this incident was shared on social media by fans, who loved the way Leclerc handled this race.

Charles Leclerc: A world champion in the waiting

Leclerc is immensely talented and that has been on display since he made his debut back in 2018. After impressing in his debut year with Sauber, the Monaco-born driver moved to his dream team- Scuderia Ferrari.

Despite Ferrari being the most successful F1 team all time, Leclerc joined them during a period of massive rebuild. He hasn’t posed a serious threat to the title, and his best chance came in 2022 when in spite of a strong start to the season, Ferrari’s internal problems hampered his charge.

2023 so far has been very underwhelming for Leclerc and Ferrari, but the 25-year-old is hoping for better results in the coming races as they look to close the gap to leaders, Red Bull.

Leclerc hoping for bounce back in Baku

After the Australian GP at the start of this month, F1 teams and drivers are now in the middle of a three-week break. Ferrari is taking this time out to work on upgrades that will make the SF-23 faster than it was in the opening three rounds.

Leclerc is optimistic about him challenging the front runners in the coming races, starting Baku. However, he is wary of the pace shown by Red Bull and admits that it is extremely difficult to challenge them for either titles this season.
