Very few F1 drivers have notable side gigs. There are the usual karting teams, and maybe the more creative alcohol brands. As always, Lewis Hamilton was always in a different league. Having started his own production company, Hamilton hasn’t started small. Joining forces with Brad Pitt, the motorsport junkies are in for a ride.

Now, the first of the cast members has been announced. While Brad Pitt takes the lead role of a returning F1 driver, Damson Idris takes the role of his teammate. Known for his work in Donald Glover’s ‘Swarm,’ and broke the scene with his role in FX’s ‘Snowfall.’

This untitled feature has already grabbed everybody’s attention. In what was one of the biggest deals in 2022, Apple left the industry awestruck with its $140 million package with this project.

Further with Lewis Hamilton in production to ensure the authenticity of the story, paired with the genius of Brad Pitt and director Joseph Kosinski, the hype is real. Now, with the introduction of Idris as the talent in the film, fans welcomed the update with open arms.

Hamilton’s intentions with the movie

Lewis Hamilton divulged in what was his responsibility to the team. Taking his goals of diversity in this avenue as well, Hamilton explained, “making sure that the cast and crew in the background is diverse. It’s something I really highlighted in the beginning.”

Additionally, Hamilton shoulders the responsibility of bringing authenticity to the project. “If you look at all the racing movies, you can’t necessarily say that all racing movies in the past have been spectacular, and that’s something we want to change.”
