Despite Earning in Millions, “Hypocrite” Max Verstappen Slammed Over Recent F1 Comments
Max Verstappen was recently called out for his ‘hypocrisy as his comments on the glitz and glamour of F1 didn’t go down well with the fans. The Red Bull star, who earned over $6 million through partnership, recently slammed the showmanship of the pinnacle form of motorsport.
As per Racingnews365, Verstappen has recently stated that he wasn’t a fan of the Miami pre-race introduction. Even though he understands the entertainment value, at the end of the day, his personal preference is to talk to his engineer and drive the car.

This is what, in fact, raged the F1 fans against the defending champion, as according to Sports Illustrated, the Dutchman earned more than $6 million through endorsements in 2022. Hence, the fans branded the two-time world champion a hypocrite online.
Furthermore, as per a recently surfaced video on Twitter, Verstappen was also seen counting his retirement years as he said he only likes the driving bit, but not everything else around it, which is believed to be the endorsement part.
Max Verstappen’s earnings and endorsements
With multiple endorsements, the Dutch pilot earned millions of dollars in 2022. Having started the year as the defending champion, and then going on to win the 2022 F1 season with thumping victories, Verstappen’s demand reached sky-high at the time.
As per reports, the 25-year-old, apart from his recent deals with EA Sports and Heineken, is also connected with brands such as Ziggo, Jumbo Supermarkets, Carnext.com, G-Star Raw, Red Bull, etc. where he is often seen promoting them. Even though the Hasselt-born is still way behind in terms of earning from endorsement, Verstappen has made quite a lot of progress in this field. Despite his making millions, his comments on the showmanship were enough to make the fans angry.
Verstappen’s Miami antic left F1 pundit fuming
The Dutchman’s action after the Miami Grand Prix victory left Peter Windsor fuming. This has come after the Red Bull driver won the race and pointed at the number 1 label on his car.
Speaking on this, Windsor shared as per Express UK, “What was he doing pointing at No.1 on his car? He is No.1 in the world. Isn’t that what his fans expect him to be doing?”
Following this, Windsor further revealed that he didn’t like the action as a whole. Talking about his personal opinion, he didn’t “like it.” Max Verstappen picked up a thumping victory over his teammate Sergio Perez despite starting from P9 in the Miami International Autodrome race.
