Despite Multiple Blockades Against 2008 F1 Glory, Felipe Massa Finally Has Something to Cheer About
After back-to-back drawbacks, Felipe Massa finally has something to cheer about as his legal fight received an important impetus. According to Motorsport.com, Massa’s legal team from Brazil is confident about the fact that they can bring the “trophy” home, and this indeed is very significant progress for the Brazilian former driver,
The former Ferrari driver got himself into a legal tussle against the FIA and FOM regarding the 2008 F1 World Championship. The 42-year-old is of the opinion that he was robbed of his championship following the Crashgate scandal.
Massa lost his championship to Lewis Hamilton by just a point, and after the recent revelation by former F1 honcho Bernie Ecclestone, the former Ferrari star got himself into the legal struggle to bring back what he ‘deserves.’ Now, the latest update on the case is of utmost importance to him, even after Ecclestone has denied making any comments on the scandal.
The legal team’s new update is an impetus for Felipe Massa
As per a recent report by Motorsport, Bernardo Viana has shed light on the important steps the legal team is aiming to take. Viana is from the Sao Paulo Vieira Rezende Advogados law firm that represents Massa in Brazil.
Talking about the important object, he said, “The objective is to bring the trophy home. It’s not financial. To get there, several measures will be taken with different aims, some to obtain information and others to obtain statements. We want everything that happened in 2008/2009 to come to light.”
Admittedly, Massa and Viana are with immense confidence that they will have the last laugh against the FIA and FOM on the 2008 world championship scandal. Much of this is due to the team they have gathered for the legal case.
Massa gathered a team of world-class lawyers to fight for him
As Felipe Massa got himself in the legal tussle, he made sure he had the best team backing him up for it. The legal team includes renowned sports law expert Nick de Marco, who has ample experience with several major sporting bodies.
Apart from him, the team also has Michele Bernasconi, Lucas Hermeto, Olivier Loizon, Tony Perez, Kendrah Potts, Daniel Levy, and Richard Levett.
As things stand, the former Brazilian F1 driver is adamant about getting ‘justice’ for the wrongdoing that he believes has happened to him. Therefore, it will be interesting to watch how the entire ordeal turns out once the verdict is out.
