F1 Fantasy Tips: Formula 1 Fantasy League Predictions and Best Picks for the 2021 Portuguese Grand Prix at Portimao

F1 Fantasy Tips: The Sportsrush takes a look at the Fantasy Team prospects for the Official Formula 1 Fantasy game for the 2021 Portuguese Grand Prix at Portimao.

The 2021 Formula 1 season witnessed one of its best races already at Imola with an epic duel between arch-rivals Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. The Red Bull was mightily impressive, winning the race rather comfortably in the end. This has moved him within 1 point of the reigning champion, with all to play for at Portimao.

Elsewhere, two of Hamilton’s ‘teammates’ squared off, quite literally, as George Russell crashed into Valtteri Bottas. Russell may have admitted his fault, but the storyline continues to play on this weekend, especially with both drivers fighting it out for a place in Mercedes alongside Hamilton next season.

To whet your appetite, the popular Official Fantasy Game by Formula 1 is live and running on the Official F1 Fantasy website. Join our official group using the league code 83ef0d2dcb.

To help you with the team for this weekend, we at The Sportsrush have done a simulation and created a team of our own. This is completely based on our rationale, focusing on quality, and balance, and the pre-season testing results.

The team comprises 5 drivers, and a preferred Constructor, made within a budget of $100m (with a natural increase in value). So, let’s dive in to see who makes our fantasy grid.

Sergio Perez – Red Bull – $18.3m

The Red Bull recruit has had a topsy-turvy start to the season so far, finishing P5 in Bahrain before finishing just outside the points in Imola. Perez has shown signs of brilliance though, and would be eager to grab his first podium for Red Bull this weekend.

Max Verstappen – Red Bull – $25.2m

The talk of the F1 town currently, Verstappen is the only driver, hands down, who can dethrone Hamilton from his pedestal this season. And if his Bahrain and Imola performance are anything to go by, Hamilton has a mammoth task in his hands to defend his one-point lead at Portimao.

Lando Norris – McLaren – $13.6

The Funny Man. The Darling of the new-gen Formula 1 fans. Norris is hugely popular off the grid, but that doesn’t mean he is a pushover on the grid, far from it. He looked immense in Bahrain, and scored a brilliant podium in Imola. With a price of 13.6, Norris is the best value-for-money pick out there.

Yuki Tsunoda – AlphaTauri – $9.4m

Considered by many to be the best Japanese to step on to the Formula 1 platform, Yuki Tsunoda could be the dark horse this season, along with being the best rookie. The Honda-backed driver has had an average start to the season, though, and would be eager to score big this weekend.

Carlos Sainz – Ferrari – $14.3m

Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris team up again in our line-up, after their hugely successful partnership at McLaren last season. The Spanaird has made a decent start to his dream Ferrari career, and is a good point to be heavily among the points – standings and fantasy – this weekend.

McLaren – Norris and Ricciardo – $18.8m

McLaren are on the up, helped by their brand-new Mercedes engines this season. Lando Norris has made a fabulous start to the season, with Ricciardo providing able support. Both drivers look set to keep up the good form and give intense competition to Ferrari for old-rivals-supremacy’s sake.
