F1 FP1 Results

F1 FP1 Results have gone in favor of Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton fastest and teammate Valtteri Bottas second in free practice 1 in Hungarian GP

The Formula One 2020 third race of the season is underway with the Free Practice sessions at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Mercedes continued their dominance from last weekend, with Lewis Hamilton clocking the fastest lap, and Valtteri Bottas the second fastest of all drivers in the session.

Racing Point are looking impressive too, with Sergio Perez in third, and teammate Lance Stroll in fourth place. They look set for another strong showing this season.

Ferrari have looked better than the last weekend, with both Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel finishing in the Top 10, ahead of the Red Bulls. Ferrari would be desperate for a good race this weekend, after their debacle last weekend, where both drivers crashed into each other.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was 8th fastest, while his teammate Alex Albon at a lowly 13th place. Expect them to put on a much better showing in the qualifying and final race, where it matters most.

What to look forward to this weekend at the Hungaroring?

Mercedes looking like the team to beat yet gain, and it would need Racing Point and Red Bull to provide Mercedes strong competition to prevent a hat-trick of wins this season. Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll are looking very impressive, and could be on the podium for the first time this season.

Red Bull are providing a smokescreen with an underwhelming performance in this session, and would be expected to perform much better in the weekend ahead. McLaren look consistent as always this season, and should be among the points this weekend too.

The qualifying sessions take place tomorrow, with the Final Race on Sunday at the Hungaroring
