F1 Qualifying Results: Lewis Hamilton cruises to P1 with fastest track record in Hungarian GP
F1 Qualifying Results: First time in the season Williams make into the Q2, George Russel gave a phenomenal lap to make him sit at top half.
The qualifying of Formula 1 at Hungarian GP started on a surprising note as for the first time in the season, both Williams ended in Q2 together. George Russel gave a terrific lap by recording 1:15:85 on the clock, securing 9th position in Q1.
Meanwhile, even Nicholas Latifi escaped the elimination by ending on 15. Apart from that Racing Point came in as dark horses in Q1 by occupying both first and second position in the round.
The Q2 presented the usual picture of Formula 1 with Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas grabbing the top 2 spots from Racing Point drivers. Charles Leclerc who was in danger of elimination pulled himself into the Q3 with an impressive last lap.
Max Verstappen again challenging Mercedes from behind picking 3rd position in the podium but his partner Alex Albon faced elimination after he got into the pit early. Whereas, McLaren bound Daniel Ricciardo faced elimination.
The Q3 had a similar story with Hamilton and Bottas maintaining their positions in the grid, Hamilton broke the record of fastest track record in Hungary.
Whereas Verstappen slipped massively in the order after his engine lost massive energy, he tried to make up to in the final minute but failed to get up in the order.
Lance Stroll surprisingly took the third position and his partner, Sergio Perez, taking the 4th position. Followed by Ferrari at 5th and 6th position on the track.
