Fernando Alonso promotes his new $192,000 company car at his own racetrack
From January 1st 2023, Fernando Alonso is officially an Aston Martin driver. The Spaniard embarks on his next mission with the British team after 2 seasons with Alpine.
With over 350 race starts, Alonso is the most seasoned F1 driver on the grid. And the 41-year-old has shown no signs of slowing down and is ever ready for another challenge.
Alonso is eagerly waiting to jump in the 2023 Aston Martin car as soon as testing commences in Bahrain. But until then, the racer has received his very own company car.
In a story Nando shared on social media, the driver has given us fans a glimpse of his new Aston Martin 2022 DBX. And the driver decided to take it to spin in his own racetrack in Oviedo, Spain.
The $192,000 SUV has a pulsating 542 horsepower twin-turbo 4.0-litre V-8 Mercedes AMG engine. Although it is a more suburban car made for comfort and practicality, it can zoom from 0-100 Kmh in under 4 seconds.

A new challenge ahead for Fernando Alonso
Since being announced as Aston Martin’s 2023 driver, Fernando Alonso has been quite excited to join his new team. And there is no doubt that an in-form Fernando Alonso could do wonders for his team with all the experience and expertise he brings.
Alonso jumped ship from Alpine after the driver was not given an ideal contract extension. And when the news broke out about Sebastian Vettel’s retirement, he immediately got in touch with his new employers and brokered a new deal
Despite his age, Alonso managed to finish 9th in the standings. Despite suffering from bad luck and poor reliability in key races, the driver managed to steer Alpine into P4 in the constructor’s championship.

The Spaniard has also appreciated Aston Martin’s efforts to challenge for race wins soon. The team have developed their facilities and will be a team to watch in 2023.
Alonso himself said, “With Aston Martin, their project is amazing what they are doing in terms of recruiting people, facilities, investment. So yeah, I think good times are coming.”
He tested for the team in the post-season test in Abu Dhabi where the 2-time World Champion was impressed with their machinery. Only time will tell what is in store for the driver and team in 2023.
