Ferrari Driver Asks Fernando Alonso to Answer His Favorite Taylor Swift Song

Rumors of Fernando Alonso and Taylor Swift dating have taken the F1 world by storm, with multiple subtle jokes being aimed at the 2-time F1 world champion over the last few weeks. Throughout the Azerbaijan GP weekend, we saw multiple people on social media and in the paddock referring to their potential relationship.

Now, as F1 heads to Miami for the first out of three American races this year, a Ferrari academy driver has joined in on the banter. Callum Ilott, who finished P2 in the 2020 F2 Championship, posted a picture on his Instagram after his latest IndyCar outing. A fan, whose account name is Callumilottsbiggestfanasked him what his favorite Taylor Swift song was.

Ilott, joining in on the bandwagon, replied by writing, “idk ask Alonso.”

Fernando Alonso himself has neither confirmed nor denied the rumors about him dating Swift. Last week, he responded to the rumors on his TikTok account, by playing a Swift song in the background and winking at the camera. Since the next F1 race is in Miami, USA, fans are desperately hoping that Swift makes an appearance trackside.

David Croft banters about Fernando Alonso-Taylor Swift relationship on live TV

Throughout the Azerbaijan GP race weekend, Sky Sports commentator David Croft couldn’t resist making Alonso-Swift references, even while he was on air. It seems that Croft worked exceptionally hard on his notes ahead of the race, as he made several puns while calling Alonso’s performances.

Alonso’s fast pace around the Baku Street Circuit led to Croft calling his drive ‘Swift’, which was a very direct reference. It gets better when the Brit says, “He went 4th fastest as if he was driving a getaway car.” Getaway Car is the name of an album published by Taylor Swift.

One of Taylor Swift’s most famous songs is ‘Blank Space’, which could be very easily fit in, while describing a driver’s performance during an F1 race. Croft didn’t let his opportunity go, as he said, “Fernando Alonso’s found a bit of ‘blank space’ ahead of him”.

Is Alonso dating Taylor Swift?

Alonso, has been in a number of relationships in the past. From 2006 and 2011, he was married to Spanish singer Raquel del Rosario, after which he also dated TV presenter Lara Alvarez from 2015 to 2016. Subsequently, he was dating Linda Morselli from 2016 to 2021.

Most recently, Alonso was reported to be in a relationship with Austrian reporter Andrea Schlager, whom he met on the F1 paddock, but it seems as though they too, have broken up. Currently, Alonso isn’t in a relationship with anyone, at least officially.

His rumored relationship with Swift remains a rumor, but the fact that Alonso responded with a cheeky Tik Tok video suggests that he is aware of what is going on. Fans are eagerly waiting for the Spaniard to confirm (or deny) these report.
