Fernando Alonso Explains Why He Feels He Can Connect with His Fans Better Than His Rivals

Fernando Alonso has opened up in a recent interview about how he believes he connects with his fans. The Spaniard believes that he has always had a strong connection with them because of how ‘funny’ and ‘authentic’ he is.

While speaking to MARCA, the Spaniard said, “I think I’ve always been funny and ironic on social media with my followers“. He explained his point by reminding his fans about how he came up with the popular phrase, ‘El Plan,’ during his time at Alpine.

He then went on to suggest that his ‘authenticity’ arguably helps him to develop a better relationship with his fans than his rivals. “Maybe most pilots have a more political and professional profile in what they do. And I put what I think at the moment I feel it, and in the way I feel it. I think it is more authentic and that people like it,” he added.

Alonso has kept his fans entertained with the Taylor Swift rumors

Over the past few days, social media has been flooded with posts about Fernando Alonso potentially dating American pop star Taylor Swift. While these speculations began as a mere rumor, the Spaniard seems to have played along with his fans by repeatedly dropping various teasers.

A few days after Alonso played Swift’s Karma song and winked at the camera, he put up another teaser to keep his fans entertained. In his latest Tiktok video, the 41-year-old can be seen lifting weights with Taylor’s 22 song playing in the background.

In order to make his post even more hilarious, Alonso interestingly also captioned his post as “I am lifting 22”. And that was not the end, as he once again ended this video by winking at the camera, knowing that it will keep his fans guessing and curious in wanting to know more.

Before the rumors of Fernando Alonso potentially dating Taylor Swift spread like fire, the 41-year-old was previously in a relationship with Austrian F1 reporter Andrea Schagler. The two were in a relationship for over a year before they decided to split up in April.

Both Schagler and Alonso informed their fans about the same via an emotional Instagram post. “We wanted to tell you that our relationship as a couple has ended. We have been lucky enough to have spent a fantastic time together, and it will continue to be so, but on a different form of affection,” read their post.
