“First to Arrive in the Morning and the Last to Leave”: Workaholic Fernando Alonso Is ‘Infecting’ Everyone at Aston Martin
Fernando Alonso with Aston Martin in 2023 has given a cracking start. This season, he has a 100% record at the podium, with the expectations of fetching more, and could even grab a win for his new team.
This glorious run by Aston Martin is a total turnaround from what the team faced in 2022. Back then, the Silverstone-based team was even unable to fight among the midtable teams, and only by the season’s end made some significant gains to finish P7 in the standings.
But now, they are arguably the second-fastest team on the grid, seeing their recent results. So, what’s keeping the entire team so motivated amidst their renaissance?

Mike Krack credits Fernando Alonso for infecting dedication
Alonso has been a dedicated worker for every team he has competed for. He is known to contribute a lot to the engineering department and give valuable feedback and suggestions every time. The 41-year-old is continuing the same work ethic at Aston Martin and working harder to reap results that have only inspired others on the team.
“Fernando is the first to arrive in the morning and the last to leave . They are small things that, as a team, you realize. He takes what he is doing seriously and is infecting everyone,” he said.
Krack further reveals that these tiny things by Alonso are helping Aston Martin to optimize its potential. When the leading figure looks so driven, it channels down to others around him, claims the team principal.

Seeking the desired F1 win
Alonso last won a race in F1 10 years back. A long wait for someone who has only missed two years in the sport in that period. Now with a team that is regularly fighting for podiums, the Spaniard would be seeking a step up.
Amidst Red Bull’s dominance, Alonso would be eyeing to pounce on any opportunity his rivals provide. So far, the day hasn’t come, but surely the 41-year-old is motivated to hear the Spanish national anthem on the F1 podium because of him.
Fernando Alonso believes that the order in Formula 1 could change from Baku. “Now begins a part of the season that will be very interesting,” he said for https://t.co/Wi9qX6mMpp pic.twitter.com/mYZXsuwtWO

Current world champion Max Verstappen has already predicted a few Aston Martin wins this year. He believes that there will be a time in the season when the track will be less suitable for Red Bull, and on that day, Alonso will be leading the entire pack.
