Is Max Verstappen Charles Leclerc's Biggest Fan? F1 Twitter Gives Four Recent Lestappen Moments to Prove This

Max Verstappen was once left in disbelief by Charles Leclerc’s audacious decision to even consider going on slick tires when the track was absolutely wet. The Dutchman gave this shocking reaction at the 2020 Turkish Grand Prix when Leclerc revealed that he was considering starting the race on slicks because of his low starting position.

When asked in that instance if he was going to start the race on inters or wets, the Monegasque replied, (as quoted by Maddie), “Actually, I am thinking about dries“. After hearing Leclerc’s response, Verstappen was asked to give his take on his rival’s assessment of the race conditions.

In reply, Verstappen said, “He is considering going on slicks now“? When told that this is exactly what Leclerc said, Verstappen hilariously added, “Did he have a few gin tonics this morning“?

F1 fans loved this Lestappen moment

Several fans have recently fallen in love with the way Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc interact with each other, and many of them have referred to both of them together as ‘Lestappen’. The incident that took place at the 2020 Turkish Grand Prix is another one of those iconic Lestappen moments.

On watching this hilarious interaction, several fans such as Bella referred to the duo of Verstappen and Leclerc as ‘unserious‘ and ‘funny‘.

Meanwhile, a Verstappen fan explained how they always enjoy seeing the interactions between these two drivers.

And on similar lines, fans such as Yasmim stated that they love to see the energy of their ‘favorites‘.

Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc have contrasting starts in 2023

Reigning Drivers’ Champion Max Verstappen has had a dream start to the 2023 season as he has already won three of the first five races of the campaign. As a result of such a fantastic start, he currently leads the championship by 14 points from Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez.

On the other hand, the start of the 2023 season has been nothing short of a disaster for Charles Leclerc. Barring one strong weekend in Baku, the Monegasque has already had two DNFs in the season and two seventh-place finishes. Consequently of these poor results, he currently finds himself seventh in the championship with just 34 points.

He is six points behind Mercedes’ George Russell and another four points behind Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz. Considering the start that Leclerc has had so far, he will hope to score some good points in the upcoming triple-header in Imola, Monaco and Spain.
