“He had a lot of insecurities”– Lewis Hamilton’s former teammate Jenson Button talks about Lewis Hamilton’s biggest weakness.

Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton were teammates back when McLaren used to contest for the titles and Grand Prix wins. Naturally, there was a rivalry between the two.

Button has revealed that Hamilton was an insecure partner when they were teammates together, but at the same time also noticed that Hamilton has managed to restrict that weakness of his.

“He has come a long way, he really has,” Button begins in conversation with PlanetF1.com. “He had a lot of insecurities in the past with racing, I remember the time he thought I’d unfollowed him on social media when we were team-mates.”

Both race drivers went onto win the world title,s while Button settled only with one, hamilton registered seven in his name, and now is going for another one.

“But I’m actually really impressed with how far Lewis has come, he’s got a massive following, he’s going to have a massive following, he’s a seven-time World Champion.”

He’s going to achieve the most.

Despite Hamilton’s insecurities, Button believes that his compatriot will go down as the most successful F1 driver ever, and Hamilton is using it for good too.

“He is going to achieve more than possibly any F1 driver has this year in F1, and he’s using it for good, and I like to see that,” he added. The former F1 driver refers to the actions Hamilton often does off the track, such as the ‘Black Lives Matter’ shirts.

Despite the seven world titles, Button maintains: “I still think there were insecurities but this year he seems so much more relaxed and it’s great to see. He has really used his voice for good.”
