"I am proud that I beat him"- Ex-rival of Lewis Hamilton feels pride in defeating him

“I am proud that I beat him”- Nico Rosberg while acknowledging the greatness of Lewis Hamilton feels pride in stating the fact of winning against him.

Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton had seen tough days with each other at Mercedes until the former retired after winning the championship in 2016.

However, no matter the level of rivalry between them there was still mutual admiration which both of them shared, and even now Rosberg acknowledges the greatness of Hamilton, as recently he said that he is proud of defeating him.

“In general I am proud that I beat him in the same car, but I always knew how good he was. So his records come as no surprise to me”. he said to Autobild.

Though, learning from the Rosberg and Hamilton duo, Mercedes learnt a big lesson that there could only be one superstar in the team. Hence, with much consideration, they finalized Valtteri Bottas to replace the German driver in the team.

Lewis Hamilton’s dominance continued

Ever since Rosberg retired, Hamilton’s dominance has remained undisputed as the Briton went onto seal four consecutive titles including the one in 2020, which he has guaranteed after the race in Turkish Grand Prix.

His total tally of World Championship is seven, equal to former Ferrari legend Michael Schumacher and Hamilton might overtake it as he is set to remain with the Silver Arrows next year, and their team still hungry to further dominate.

His achievements lately compelled people to acknowledge his level, with the British Crown reported to grant him the knighthood on this New Year’s eve.

F1 after long have received a global icon in the name of Hamilton who along with his brilliance on the track has made space for himself as an activist, as he is politically conscious and voice for the equal rights among all the races.
