“I enjoy my work with Alpine right now” – Daniil Kvyat suggests Helmut Marko will not welcome him back at Red Bull
“I enjoy my work with Alpine right now” – Russian driver Daniil Kvyat has had two stints with the Red Bull family and is unlikely to be called back by Helmut Marko again.
Daniil Vyacheslavovich Kvyat has only raced for the Red Bull family teams in his F1 career – Toro Rosso, Red Bull, and AlphaTauri. The only times he’s not been a part is when he was the third driver at Ferrari and now the reserve at Alpine.
When asked on the F1 Nation podcast if there is a possibility of returning to Red Bull, Kvyat cheekily suggested the team’s boss Helmut Marko will not call him back again, as it would be embarrassing for him now.
“I think he’s dying to give me a call. But I think this time, the pride might be in the way – because already last time it was a bit like admitting the mistake, no?”
Daniiel Kvyat is over-rated and RedBull should have kept JEV instead of him. https://t.co/Wcr2hVrg22

Chances of Daniil Kvyat racing in 2022?
Chances at Alpine look slim, considering his former teammate at AlphaTauri Pierre Gasly would be preferred in the French team if Esteban Ocon or Fernando Alonso is dropped. But for now, Kvyat is enjoying his team in the simulator and factory, giving his valuable inputs.
“My eyes are wide open, my ears also are open and to be honest I’m quite flexible.
“I enjoy my work with Alpine right now, I’m giving my best always to the team that I’m with, and right now I’m focused on that. I enjoy the atmosphere in the team.
“They’re very interesting guys, a very hardcore racing team, and all the sessions I’ve attended on race weekends and in the testing sessions, they all work like a clock, very organized, very solid group of people. It will be interesting – I think this team has a huge potential for the future.”
