“I know that my time is not infinite”- Mattia Binotto says that he has strong backing from Ferrari’s management, but it is limited.

Ferrari saw one of the most challenging periods in its history, and Mattia Binotto was in the charge. At the same time, it occurred that he managed to remain at his position despite the rumours of his sacking in the mid-season of 2020.

Explaining his relations and Ferrari’s predicaments under his watch, he said that the management understands the team’s current position and every decision is made under their confidence.

“I think he has been a fantastic CEO, boss and friend. Very supportive, long-view in terms of having passions, investing et cetera,” Binotto on Louis Camilleri, who shockingly resigned last year, as per the GPFans.

“But I have to say, whatever we were doing was supported by our chairman, John Elkann and by our vice-president Pierro Ferrari and I have to say I have the full trust and support of these guys as well of which I have known for many years.

“Today, I think there are no changes in our plans, no changes in what is our future.”

Things will not remain the same forever.

He further claimed that Ferrari bosses had given him a strong backing, but at the same time, he believes that if things continue as it is, he will not see the similar support for a long time.

“I know that my time is not infinite, certainly. I am aware of the fact that I need to, as a team, we need to do well but myself as well as team principal, to do well in the next seasons,” he explained.

“But in terms of view, it is unchanged. We know that there is no silver bullet in F1 to become competitive and the other teams’ benchmark. Step-by-step, you need to build, and it will take some time. But as we said, I think the ambitions are unchanged, and our projects are unchanged.”
