“I think they are going to”- Former Haas duo tell their successors what to expect from the car in 2021
“I think they are going to”- Former Haas duo explain to their successors who are going to debut in F1, what to expect from their cars in 2021.
Haas ousted Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen to sign two rookies- Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin, which led to the former duo’s end to their F1 career.
While Magnussen has signed to race in IMSA sports car series, Grosjean seems to take a sabbatical from the motorsport racing after the horrific accident in Bahrain.
Though they have left some advice for the upcoming duo graduating from Formula 2, Magnussen appears to be more pessimistic and draws a picture of his car experience.
“I don’t think they are going to find a difficult car to drive,” said the Dane as per the GPFans. “As we have seen, these cars are excellent, and many times I’ve driven the car and thought ‘this has got to be competitive’ because the feeling has been pretty good, but it just isn’t, and we’re slow because we lack a bit of everything, quite a bit of everything.
“That’s really what makes us uncompetitive, but not really because the car is challenging to drive. I think they are going to find it very fast and enjoyable to drive.”
“It’s not too hard to drive”- Romain Grosjean.
The Frenchmen added onto Magnussen’s thoughts and told that its more about how good the driver is the tyre management department, and with experiences they might age well with the car.
“I think generally Formula 1 is difficult for a rookie, but the car is, it’s a bit understeer, so in that aspect, it’s not too hard to drive. I guess it’s always going to be a key to getting the tyre to work and with the 2021 tyres, we don’t know how it is going to go,” said Grosjean.
“It’ll be faster than what they’re used to.”
