“I’m getting older, so…” – Title contender Max Verstappen interrupts interview of former Red Bull teammate Daniel Ricciardo, leading to a funny exchange between the two.

McLaren drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris were getting interviewed ahead of the Styrian Grand Prix, with Ricciardo being asked the million-dollar question of if Max Verstappen can beat Lewis Hamilton to the title this season. This is what Ricciardo had to say for his former Red Bull teammate’s chances:

“It looks like he has the car he can do it with, maybe he will become world champion. He’s capable of it, but I haven’t been a team-mate with Lewis, so I don’t know all his strengths.

Just then, the man himself was walking towards the McLaren duo, along with his current teammate Sergio Perez. He went straight to Ricciardo and promptly interrupted the interview, following which this hilarious exchange, with Ricciardo commenting about the Dutchman’s hair.

Daniel Ricciardo: “Hey, you look different, new haircut?”

Max Verstappen:  “No, it’s the cap, I have another one. I’m getting older, so…”

DR: “I know him so well, I saw something and thought: there is something different today. Hmm, it’s the cap. It makes you look thinner.

Ricciardo, who had a mixed relationship with Verstappen, had good words for him, hilariously ending with how he has influenced Verstappen to become so good.

“I enjoyed being Max’s teammate. We had a lot of fights, Max showed a lot of his speed and talent over the years and we really helped each other forward. Maybe after his retirement, he will write a book and say: Daniel Ricciardo was the key to my career.
