“It’s my favourite track on the calendar”– Max Verstappen mentions Spa to be his favourite circuit as F1 will resume from there, after the break.

Max Verstappen had a terrific start to the 2021 season and gained a significant lead over Lewis Hamilton until the last two races turned out to be a horror for Red Bull.

But with the season set to start in less than three weeks with the Belgian Grand Prix, Verstappen claims that the Spa Francorchamps is his favourite track in this year’s F1 calendar.

“It’s my favourite track on the calendar, and it’s always nice to drive there,” said Verstappen. “I hope we can have a great result, but I will enjoy driving the laps.

“Overall, it’s been a good start for us, we’ve been really competitive. But we need to be there at the end of the season as well because that’s what you work for as a team, so let’s hope it’s going to be like that.”

“We keep pushing, we will never give up and we will focus on ourselves. We’ve had two very unlucky races but nothing is lost, it’s still a very long season.”

It feels great to drive in Red Bull.

Despite losing the last two races, Verstappen feels good while driving the RB16B and claims that his team looked quite competitive from the start, even though it’s tough to tell when you first get a hold of a car.

“It felt nice to drive,” said Verstappen. “But it’s always difficult to tell initially how it’s going to be, but we were competitive and looking good right from the start.”

Last year, Mercedes had an easy win, as they clinched both P1 and P2, while Verstappen had to settle with a P3. Now, it remains to be seen how the competition turns out this year.
