Formula 1 fans have not been able to ignore the romance that has apparently been brewing between Lewis Hamilton and Shakira for the past month. However, fans were left shocked after it came to light that Carlos Sainz might have had a role to play in the Hamilton-Shakira saga.

Ever since Shakira was spotted chilling with Hamilton on his yacht in Miami, the duo kept making headlines. Shakira visited the Spanish GP and even met up with the Mercedes driver for dinner after the race.

And now, after months of speculations, it has come to light that fellow F1 driver Carlos Sainz may have set Hamilton up with the songstress. Spanish journalist Pip Estrada has made claims that the Ferrari driver played cupid between the Briton and Shakira.

Fans are struggling to keep up with the new twist

Fans had a spectrum of reactions when they discovered that Sainz might also be a part of the Hamilton-Shakira story. One of the fans exclaimed that the whole thing is getting sillier day by day.

Twitter user Anthony Cullen recalled the rumors about Hamilton joining Ferrari. He claimed that Sainz must have made a deal with Hamilton regarding his F1 seat.

Another fan mentioned the fact that Hamilton had recently posted a picture of Sainz and his chili bucket hat on his Instagram.

Twitter user Stefanie politely asked Sainz if he could help her next.

Another fan paid homage to Shaquille O’Neal by apologizing to Christian Wood, saying he wasn’t familiar with Wood’s game. In this case, the fan wasn’t aware of Sainz’s game.

Hamilton and Shakira have managed to get fans really invested

Much has been made about Hamilton and Shakira dating each other. But neither of them has made any official comments regarding the same. Spanish news outlet Marca reported that Hamilton and Shakira are getting to know each other slowly.

However, fans have not held back and took things to a different level when they dug out a tweet made by Shakira’s ex-boyfriend Gerard Pique some 10+ years ago. Fans even claimed that the Latina singer was the reason behind the incredible performance by Hamilton in Spain.
