“Nearly broke my back”: Damon Hill relates to dangerous crash by Ayrton Senna in 1993
Ayrton Senna was one of those drivers who loved to take risks if they could give better rewards without thinking about the consequences. As he once said, “If you no longer go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver.”
Thus, he has been known for making some of the biggest manoeuvres. The Brazilian race driver won three championships with the same mentality and created his mystique.
For many, he is arguably the most talented F1 driver ever born. His career fell short when he died in 1994 after a fatal crash. What could have been if he had completed his time in F1?

Damon Hill relates to Ayrton Senna’s crash
While Senna is one of the best drivers to grace the sport, even he could make mistakes in the simplest tasks. An online video shows that Senna crashed a kart while racing in Bercy, France.
The crash looked dangerous, as Senna appeared to lost control of his vehicle and looked vulnerable. Though it didn’t look fatal, former F1 champion Damon Hill explains that such crashes could be painful too.
Hill shares his own experience in the same town. He reveals that once, he crashed in Bercy and nearly broke his back. He ended his tweet by saying that karts are dangerous.
I crashed a Bercy too. Nearly broke my back! Bloody karts are dangerous! #f1 https://t.co/1q5kXwX6Q7

Ayrton Senna is the fastest driver ever
In modern F1, the GOAT debate is between Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher, as both have seven-world titles each. On the other hand, he couldn’t take his tally above three, but according to renowned software, he is the fastest F1 driver.
Data collected by Amazon Web Services from 1983 to 2020, Senna is declared the fastest driver ever. He beats the next best driver, as per the data Michael Schumacher by one-tenth of a second, and beats Hamilton, who is at P3, by two-tenths of a second.
Though, the data can be disputed as it excludes the names like Alain Prost and Mika Hakkinen, who were the biggest rivals of Senna and Schumacher, respectively.
While there could be a few faults in the results, it surely defines that Senna was one of the best drivers ever, and his legacy is unparalleled at many levels.
