Nico Hulkenberg was involved in a very scary crash during the Abu Dhabi GP, when during lap 1, his rear tyre touch the left front tyre of Grosjean and the car ended up flipping a couple of times before slamming into the side barrier.
Hulkenberg’s car was upside down and he had to sit inside ‘like a cow’ before the marshals could come in and turn the car.
Check out the video of the crash(this is not the onboard video)

While the halo has shown its usefulness during the course of the season, this was one such incident where the halo could have actually caused some very serious problems for the driver.
Hulkenberg could not really get out of the car because of the halo and in case of a fire that could have been catastrophic for him.
A picture is worth a thousand words.

It took the marshals some good few minutes to arrive at the scene and turn the car over in order to get Hulkenberg out of that mess.
The onboard video is a scary one:

Charlie Whiting though said that the Halo did not delay the extraction of Nico Hulkenberg.
