Red Bull might lose out on an exciting talent, credit to the enormous dominance of Max Verstappen in the team. The Dutchman’s unchallenged grip on the Austrian team could see the current AlphaTauri star leave the team in the future.
The recent dominance by the Dutchman has been humongous. Leaving aside the 2022 season, the 25-year-old claimed six wins in eight races and took P2 in the two races he couldn’t win.
Following the level of dominance the two-time world champion has been showing, there’s hardly any doubt about who is going to be the favorite in Milton-Keynes in the days to come.
Citing this, Yuki Tsunoda has recently hinted at an exit and wants to move beyond the Red Bull motorsport group which also consists of their sister team AlphaTauri. A move similar to his former teammate Pierre Gasly, who switched to Alpine.
Tsunoda is in a Red Bull dilemma
The Japanese driver has been on the team since the 2021 season. He replaced Daniil Kvyat and in doing so, he has constantly impressed the higher-ups with his stellar performances.
Now with Gasly gone, the young Japanese is the main man on the Faenza-based team. However, he wants to move upwards and onwards from here on. But in Red Bull’s main team that will not be possible since Sergio Perez still has a contract till 2024.
At least I enjoyed lots of overtaking during the race.
I’ll be back stronger in Canada💪

With Tsunoda contracted to be at AlphaTauri till the end of 2024, there’s nothing he can do but improve his performance. Speaking on this, the Japanese said to GiveMeSport, “So, for now, I just have to focus on myself and show my value. I think time will tell anyway.”
“I think it’s good to actually stay for now at AlphaTauri and show my performance to all the teams,” further asserted the 23-year-old driver. Admittedly, the man from Sagamihara also emphasized how he wants to be in charge of his own destiny, not Red Bull and Helmut Marko.
Can Aston Martin be a destination for Tsunoda?
Aston Martin has reportedly tied up with Honda and the partnership is to be effective from 2026 onwards. With the new regulations that will be in place, there are talks regarding the Japanese driver being lured into the Silverstone-based team.
The Green team has been showing great potential off late and with the advancements they are showing, they might be the title contenders in F1 in the future.
With age on his side, if Yuki Tsunoda decides to opt out of the Red Bull fraternity, there are chances Yuki Tsunoda might switch to Aston Martin after Fernando Alonso retires. Alonso moving out will vacate the prized seat alongside Lance Stroll.
