Red Bull Mastermind Almost Emptied Wallets at $3 Million Aston Martin To Create Multi Million Dollar Gem Owned by Max Verstappen

Adrian Newey, the Red Bull mastermind, once brought Aston Martin to its knees by designing “a gem of a car.” The hypercar named Aston Martin Valkyrie, which costs a whopping $3 million and is owned by Max Verstappen, almost bankrupted the British manufacturers.

Newey, when he was a bit away from his F1 duties at the Austrian team, was in charge of developing the hypercar. A Red Bull man developing for their rival might look tricky for some, but this dates back to 2018.

This was the time when the Milton-Keynes-based brigade had Aston Martin as their title sponsor from 2018-2020. As Newey was in charge of the development, he had to abide by the FIA rules to make it limited edition worthy and comply with other rules to make it street worthy.

The limited edition hybrid sports car, code-named AM-RB 001 and Nebula [Acronym for Newey, Red Bull, and Aston Martin], was developed in collaboration with Aston Martin and Red Bull Advanced Technologies.

Christian Horner reveals how Newey almost bankrupted Aston Martin

Speaking to The Financial Times, the Red Bull honcho said it gets tough for a small OEM (original equipment manufacturer) like Aston Martin if the cost isn’t managed efficiently and effectively.

As per RBR News on Twitter, the Briton continued to add, “And of course, we’ve got Adrian Newey, who probably doesn’t know where our finance department even is!”

He created an incredible, incredible car, that almost bankrupted Aston Martin! But I mean, it is an absolute gem of a car,” Horner further asserted.

The Valkyrie boasts a 6.5 liter Aston Martin Cosworth naturally aspirated V12 engine, which pumps out 1160 horsepower. It’s the successor of the Aston Martin One-77 and is the main competitor of the Mercedes AMG One.

The making of this car has cost the authority millions of dollars. The car’s production will be limited as per SuperCar Blondie to 150 only, with its Spider version [Drop top version costs $4 million] limited to 85. Furthermore, it’ll also have a pro version which will is listed at $3.5 million.

Apart from Max Verstappen, who owns the Valkyrie hypercar?

Apart from the Red Bull star driver who bought the British beast after shelling out $3 million, another Red Bull man got his hands on it.

Former Red Bull driver David Coulthard owned one, and he was often seen driving the hypercar around the streets of Monaco. But, as per the latest update, he sold the car.

Keeping them aside, two other people, known for their car collection knack, will be getting their hands on the limited edition car, as per Gentlemavenue.com

Businessman, entrepreneur, and car aficionado Ken Chan and Manny Khoshbin are all set to have the Aston Martin Valkyrie in their multi-million garage very soon.
