Sebastian Vettel to Red Bull: Helmut Marko confirms Red Bull’s final decision on Vettel for 2021 F1 season
Sebastian Vettel to Red Bull seems to be off the table for 2021 F1 season, as Helmut Marko has confirmed the team isn’t going for him.
Sebastian Vettel to Red Bull not happening
Speaking to Auto Motor und Sport, Marko said, “We have no place for Vettel, we have Albon and we are happy with him. Albon is half Thai and Red Bull is 51 per cent Thai.” He added that, Vettel should take some time away from the sport.
The former driver added, “I would take a year off and look at it from an outside perspective, but maybe he likes the life with the family so much that he leaves completely.

“If you make the decision to close the door, you shouldn’t do it so that you can hope to open it again sometime. You have to be prepared to leave the door closed.” he further noted.

Sebastian Vettel looking at F1 exit
It is looking increasingly evident now that there will be no place on the grid in 2021 for the 33-year-old German. McLaren and Renault, both of whom were previously linked with Vettel, have finalised their driver line-ups for 2021.

While Mercedes has said it is happy with current pairing Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.
This had left Red Bull as the latest team to be mooted as a possible destination, but Marko has now closed the door on a potential reunion with Vettel. This is arguably the final nail in the coffin thereby sealing Vettel’s fate.
The gradual decline of the Former World Champion
From becoming the youngest world champion in 2010, to having one of his worst seasons in 2019, it is safe to say that the German is nowhere near his peak.
He managed to win just one race in the previous campaign, his career best being 13 in 2013, his fourth consecutive world championship triumph. Not that long ago though, 2017 and 2018, he managed back to back runners up positions. So it is only for him to introspect how it all went wrong.
