"That was the best thing I've ever experienced": Michael Schumacher once shared how it was to play against Ronaldo & Zinedine Zidane

Michael Schumacher, apart from Formula 1, was in love with football. The German loved playing the ball with his kids and was also invited to the farewell match of Michael Ballack when the latter was playing for Bayer Leverkusen back in 2013.

The seven-time world champion was an ardent follower of his nation’s domestic football league Bundesliga and reportedly supported Koln. Thus, he was a passionate follower of the most viewed game in the world.

He was even friends with some of the top European players and had some games with them. He only needed reasons to be on the pitch, and he shares one incredible instance.

Michael Schumacher played with Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldo

Schumacher is one of the top F1 drivers and once had the privilege of playing with the Galacticos. He shared his experience in one of the videos posted by Bundesliga on Youtube, where he says he once played with Luis Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane back when they were Real Madrid players.

“I once played a match in Madrid against [Luis] Ronaldo and [Zinedine] Zidane,” said Schumacher. “That was incredible. What they can do with a ball is like a form of art.”

The former F1 driver then claims that it was the best thing he ever experienced in football. Indeed, playing with two world cup winners was nothing short of incredible, even if one is arguably the best F1 driver of all time.

Schumacher speaks on Pep Guardiola takes on Bayern Munich job

When Pep Guardiola took charge of Bayern Munich, they were the treble winners under the command of Jupp Heynckes. It was only Guardiola who could take the dressing room full of superstars.

Under the Spaniard, Barcelona also won their first treble. So it was fair to assume the most successful German club was under the right hands. However, Schumacher was hesitant to expect the same from Guardiola and talked about how it isn’t easy to take Bayern Munich above where they already are.

Schumacher ended up being partially correct. Guardiola never managed to replicate Bayern Munich’s success in the 2012/13 season, but he had a fair amount of success by winning the league every year he was in charge with the club.

But not winning the champions league with Bayern Munich is the biggest blot in his time with them. Now, Guardiola is with Manchester City and is aiming to win the title and the biggest European title with them this season.
